During the meeting, attended by the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, the members of the board examined the prototype and got information about the car.
After the meeting, TOGG Chairman Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the prototype will be presented to the public at the end of this year.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Chairman of the Board of Turkey’s Automobile Initiative Group (TOGG) Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, Vice Chairman of the Board of Turkey’s Automobile Initiative Group (TOGG) Taha Yasin Öztürk, BMC's excutive members and other stakeholders participated in the meeting held in Istanbul.
The project of domestic automobile is conducting by the company of Türkiye’nin Otomobili Girişim Grubu Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) has 5% and Anadolu Group, Kök Group, Turkcell, Zorlu Holding and BMC have 19% share in the company.
It is said that the domestic automobile, which is expected to go on sale in 2022, will create employment for 20 thousand people direct and indirect.
